Information about Barrier-free Accessibility
Barrier-free parking
There are two barrier-free parking spaces in front of the entrance to the castle lift.
Barrier-free access
Barrier-free access to the Hohenwerfen Castle is easily possible with the castle lift. The footpath to the castle is not accessible due to its steepness.
Accessibility in the interior of the castle
Please note that Hohenwerfen Castle has many steps and slopes, making accessibility difficult. The castle tour of the interior and access to the birds of prey demonstration cannot be offered to disabled people due to the many stairs. At the ticket office you will receive free tablets with a video tour of the interior and the falconry demonstration. The castle tavern and the gift shop do not offer barrier-free accessibility, due to the existence of small steps.
Wheelchair-accessible toilets
Disabled toilets are located at the base station station and in the castle courtyard at the management office.
Partner dogs
Partner dogs are allowed on a leash at the Hohenwerfen Castle.
Discounts
On presentation of a disabled pass, visitors with a disability rating of ≥50%, and an accompanying person, shall be entitled to reduced-price admission.
