Information about Barrier-free Accessibility
There are two barrier-free parking spaces in front of the entrance to the castle lift.
Barrier-free access to the Hohenwerfen Castle is easily possible with the castle lift. The footpath to the castle is not accessible due to its steepness.
Accessibility in the interior of the castle
Please note that Hohenwerfen Castle has many steps and slopes, making accessibility difficult. The castle tour of the interior and access to the birds of prey demonstration cannot be offered to disabled people due to the many stairs. At the ticket office you will receive free tablets with a video tour of the interior and the falconry demonstration. The castle tavern and the gift shop offer barrier-free accessibility.
Disabled toilets are located at the base station station and in the castle courtyard at the management office.
Care attendants and partner dogs
Partner dogs are allowed on a leash at the Hohenwerfen Castle. An accompanying person receives free admission to the castle. For groups, all attendants receive free admission.
The disability card entitles the holder to a reduced admission price to the castle.
