Lungau country museum
The Lungau region and its landscape
Up to only 50 years ago, only the castle tavern could be accessed at Mauterndorf Castle. The remaining rooms were closed to the public. As time went by, there was great demand for a museum on the history of the Lungau region. Gems of Lungau culture were collected for many years and now can be admired in the Lungau museum.
Opening hours
In the summer season, the Lungau museum can be visited during the opening hours of Mauterndorf Castle. The museum is closed during the winter.
