For people with impaired mobility, access via the north entrance is possible. Please register in advance by phone +43 6472 74 26 so that we can open the barrier for you.

Access to the castle via the north parking lot is barrier-free.

Accessibility in the interior of the castle

Please note that Mauterndorf Castle has many steps and bumps that make accessibility difficult. Exhibition rooms, the tower and the castle tavern are currently not accessible.


Partner dogs are allowed on a leash at Mauterndorf Castle.


On presentation of a disabled pass, visitors with a disability rating of ≥50%, and an accompanying person, shall be entitled to reduced-price admission.

Special offers for persons with disabilities

  • Persons with impaired walking: At the ticket office you will be presented with tablets with a video guide of the interior.
  • Persons with impaired hearing: At the ticket office you will receive tablets with a video guide in sign language.
