Mauterndorf Castle

At Mauterndorf Castle children and youths of all ages are given the opportunity to travel back to the medieval era. Our trained museum educators provide fascinating background information on the former toll stop and occasional summer residence of the Salzburg prince bishops.

There’s also plenty of fun and food for thought to be had trying on authentic medieval clothing, acting out authentic scenes and enjoying the typical culinary fare enjoyed by the watchmen of the age.
